Hi,
I added a "Cylinder Gauge" monitor for:
Monitor Type: PerfMon
Category: LogicalDisk
Counter: Free Megabytes
Instance: C:

After starting the monitor the number in the bottom left of the gauge is correct but the % next to the cylinder reads 100%.
Shouldn't this be reading in MB instead of % and the number next to the cylinder should reflect the MB?

FYI:
My drive total capacity is 36GB, it's using 16GB and has 20GB free.

Created Issue: Dial Gauge thresholds are changing after I set them

I have a dial guage that is monitoring Web Current Connections.

I have the threshold 1 = 200. When I close the properties window, the gauge is correctly showing the threshold level. However, if I close down and open the dashboard, the gauge will show the threshold = 100. If I open the properties window and immediately close it, the threshold will set to 200 correctly.

The maximum for the gauge = 450.

Closed Issue: Ping Monitor

I created a Ping monitor using the default settings and the "Status Light (Single)" gauge. I started the monitor and the gauge turned green as expected. I then saved the dashboard. Now, without turning off the ping monitor I closed the dashboard then reopened it. When it opened, the ping monitor gauge is already in the Start mode, there is a -1.00 in the bottom left window of the gauge and the gauge is black. When I click on Monitor Options button and look at the Monitor Stats at the bottom of that menu the "Elapsed" and the "# Samples" have values that are changing but the Min, Max and Avg readings are all -1.00.
From here the first thing I do to try and start the gauge is to toggle the Start/Stop button at the top left of the monitor but nothing happens, gauge is still black and reading
-1.00, then I click on the Monitor Options, select Properties and click Ok. The gauge then turns green and starts working.
So far this is the only monitor that does not start automatically when I reopen the dashboard. Do I have something setup wrong?

Thank you for the reply. First off let me tell you that this is a killer app and I appreciate you making it available. Keep up the good work.

I'll try to better explain what I'm doing and the results I'm having and see if they make better since.

Commented Issue: Perfmon Category Error

Hello,

I was trying to setup monitoring on a server that I have called "exchange001", which is a valid name and it can be pinged through the network. When I put it in the Host field and try to select a Category I get the error "Cannot Refresh category list: Input string was not in correct format". I just wanted to see if anyone could help me out with this or if this is because there are numbers in the name of my server. If so, it would be great to be able to use numbers or even an IP address (You can do this when you connect to another computer in Computer Management). Any help is appreciated!

A number in the host name should not be a problem - many of my servers have such appended numerics and seem to work fine.
I'm just not sure what the issue could be. Have you made sure that the credentials you are using for PolyMonRT has admin access to the server you are trying to monitor? Usually an Access Denied error is reported but this could be related.

I am monitoring the total bytes per second for a SQL Server cluster's "public" NIC. I need to be able to set thresholds that are greater than 100,000,000 - Specifically 120,000,000+ (90% saturation) and 107,000,000+ (80% saturation)

I will change PolyMonRT to make the Threshold values use the scaled values rather than the raw unscaled values it is currently using.

I was able to reproduce this problem on a Vista 64 box. Same release works fine on WinXP 32 and Vista 32.

Actually this is working as designed. The cylinder gauge will only report percentages.

For now, you should simply set the maximum value for the gauge as your total drive space (in Megabytes) in the properties dialog. The counter display will show the actual free megabytes and the gauge display will show this as a % of free space.

I am monitoring a SQL Server buffer monitor Cache Hit Ratio.
The problem I have is that the bigger the better for this number (100% is great!, 70% is bad.
If I set a red threshold at 70%, The pup is always red/over red-line.
Could the coloring logic be modified to allow configuration of threshold direction (change to red if BELOW 70%...)
